Each option has its advantages. Subdirectories (example.com/fr/, example.com/en/) concentrate domain authority and are the simplest to manage. Subdomains (fr.example.com) offer more technical flexibility but dilute authority. ccTLDs (.fr, .de, .co.uk) send the strongest geographic signal but require building the authority of each domain.
